About Me

I never know where to start when I talk about myself... the facets seem so unrelated yet bundled into, well, ME!

I'm a twenty something Californian, born and raised in farming country of the Central Valley. Raised by my grandparents, I have a great appreciation for family and heritage. I think that's one of the reasons I became a teacher.

After finishing a degree in Dairy Science from Cal Poly, I completed a teaching credential in Agriculture. I'm now privileged to teach middle school at an agriculture and environmental science outdoor education charter school less than an hour from my hometown. Teaching is one of the hardest but one of the most rewarding things I can possible imagine. As a new teacher, each day is an adventure.

During non school hours I raise LaMancha, Toggenburg and Saanen dairy goats, exhibit them at local fairs and shows, and judge dairy goat shows around the U.S. for the American Dairy Goat Association. This amazingly cool hobby has introduced me to people all over the U.S and helped foster friendships I feel fortunate to have.

Just to make certain I'm not bored, I also love creating music. Until recently I've been a member of a Sweet Adeline (women's a capella singing) chorus, quartet when possible, and dabble in several musical instruments.

In my abundance of spare time, I work with 4-H, garden, scrapbook, read, write, try to visit family, hike, swim and, if all else fails, do grown up things like housework.
