I love reading about the things other people like... books, movies, foods, music, what have you. Here is the growing list of some of mine.
Music:
1) Max Q - a men's barbershop (BBS) quartet. These guys offer everything under the sun, from soul wrenching ballads to children's music, and are always good for a laugh.
2) Aaron Copeland - one of America's most famous composers, his instrumental music can create such beautiful scenery in my head.
3) Andrew Lloyd Weber - one of my favorite musical composers. Cats and Phantom of the Opera are certainly among his most noteworthy, although my favorite song is "Someone Like You" from Jekyll and Hyde
Movies:
City of Joy - this seldom mentioned film starring the late Patrick Swayze, is a moving true story of a disillusioned American physician who finds meaning and friendship through work in the slums of India.
Books:
Christy by Catherine Marshall
Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink
Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
Murder for Her Majesty by Beth Hilgartner
TV:
M*A*S*H - this hilarious series is always guaranteed to make me laugh, ponder life and occasionally cry
Places to Visit:
San Antonio, Texas - probably the only place in the US outside of California I would seriously consider living without any other compelling reason. Beautiful but urban all at the same time with amazing weather, even in July.
Yosemite National Park - just as pretty as every tour book claims.
